Gear Ratios Explained
Gear ratios are actually just a combination of gears BELT DRIVE SYSTEM on your bike that decide how many times the wheel at the back spins for every turn of the pedals. Gear ratio is generally expressed as a fraction i.e. the number of teeth on the front chainring divided by the number of teeth on the rear cassette. For instance, a 2:1 gear ratio means that the rear wheel will spin two times for each one turn of a pedal.
What to consider for gear ratio when choosing your setup
There are a couple of important factors to consider when selecting the proper gear ratio for your MTB CRANKSETS. First, consider the kind of terrain you’ll be riding. If you are going to be riding up steep hills, you may prefer a lower gear ratio that will make climbing them easier. Conversely, if you will be riding on flat ground or downhill, you may prefer a higher gear to get you up to speed.
